Stacy M King, Esq.

Stacy King (nee Stacy Rennebu) was born on March 4, 1976 in South Orange County, California. She attended Mission Viejo High School where she swam competitively for the nationally ranked high school team. After high school, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Law and Society with a minor in Women's Studies. While there, she was very active in the Rape Prevention Education Program, taught self defense classes and was the lead organizer for a national conference that discussed the prevalence of sexual assaults on college campuses and ways to stop such violence. After graduating UCSB in 1998, Ms. King attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, Ca. and graduated in 2001, cum laude. While there, Ms. King was a recipient of the Witkins Award, Jefferson Medal and the National Deans Honor List in 2000 and 2001.

While attending law school, Ms. King was a law clerk at several San Diego private firms that specialized in family law, employment discrimination and medical malpractice. She was also a certified law clerk for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office and worked in the Vista Branch. While there, she conducted motion hearings on a weekly basis. This experience gave Ms. King an insight into litigation early in her career.

Upon concluding her law degree in 2001, Ms. King became an associate at the medical malpractice firm of Barry & Harris in San Diego, Ca. Within a few months of being admitted to practice law, she sat second chair in a jury trial that resulted in a verdict in favor of the Plaintiff along with an award of punitive damages. This was Ms. King's first trial victory as a plaintiffs' attorney.

After practicing at Barry & Harris for about a year, Ms. King accepted a position with the defense firm Darling, Robertson & Lee. While there, she worked in the construction defect division and later began assuming personal injury cases that occurred on construction sites.

In June 2003, Ms. King accepted an associate's position at Macaluso & Associates, APC. While working there, Ms. King represented various clients who had lost loved ones or themselves were injured in tragic car, airplane and helicopter accidents, as well as deaths and injuries caused by defective products, physician negligence, defective medical devises and drugs, unsafe premises, and wild land fires.

Ms. King, acting as co-chair to Mr. Macaluso, obtained a jury verdict in the amount of $55.6 Million dollars against San Diego Gas & Electric Company for the utility company negligently failing to light a utility tower on Camp Pendleton.

Along with that case, Ms. King has sat as second chair with Mr. Macaluso on one other case, and was the sole attorney on another jury trial as well as a bench trial.

Ms. King resigned from her position at Macaluso & Associates in December 2009 and, along with her partner, Zachary Lemley, started their own firm, KING & LEMLEY, LLP.

Ms. King is admitted to practice in the State of California; the United States District Court, Southern District; and the United States District Court, Central District. Ms. King's professional activities include membership in the American Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Consumer Attorneys Association of San Diego, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
